Eugenia Talks about the music industry from her point of view as a songwriter, performer and wheelchair user
"We always wanted to be something that is unique, something that's unique in the market"
Inspirational words from Eugenia Bertin speaking to Creative Choices, an organisation who aim to develop the careers of individuals in the creative and cultural industries. Creative choices were keen to hear Eugenia's take on the music industry and here are the key aspects she highlighted:
"I wanted to develop my own thing that was unique, because even though the music industry is hard, to make it in the music industry I have to put my voice across about disabled artists."
"A lot of critics don't believe in disabled artists: a lot of images about sex selling, about looking a certain way. And I just thought: 'You're so negative!'."
"I wanted to teach the music world what they need. This is part of Eugenia Unique: to do campaigning and also to do workshops, so people can relate to Eugenia Unique. "
